The system merger will be finalized on August 31, 2025. This strategic partnership strengthens our commitment to member-focused service, innovation, and community impact.

Following a thorough strategic review and approval by the WMEFCU Board of Directors, the merger was also endorsed by a majority of WMEFCU’s voting membership. Together, the two credit unions will unite to deliver enhanced value and expanded service to all members.

“We’re excited to welcome the members of Wellesley Municipal Employees FCU into the Common Trust family,” said Jim McCorkle, President and CEO of Common Trust FCU. “This partnership strengthens both institutions and enhances our ability to serve members with broader products, better technology, and an even deeper commitment to personalized, local service.”

Key benefits of the merger include:

  • Expanded Member Services: A broader range of financial products, improved digital banking tools, and additional member resources

  • Improved Convenience: Access to more branch locations and ATMs for easier day-to-day banking

  • Stronger Financial Foundation: A more resilient and sustainable credit union positioned for long-term growth and service excellence

The combined organization will operate under the Common Trust Federal Credit Union name, reflecting a unified identity and continued dedication to empowering members and supporting local communities.

Throughout the merger process, members of both credit unions can expect continuity of service and clear communication. The transition is being carefully planned to ensure a smooth experience for all members with no disruption to accounts, services, or member rights.
